Styling Your Memorial Day Weekend Table

Memorial Day weekend calls for celebration – after all it is summer’s four day long welcome wagon. If weather allows, it is the kick-off of al fresco everything – from casual hanging, to games, dinner, or maybe just drinks. Regardless of how or why you find yourself outside for the long weekend, we would be hard pressed to hear of many people looking forward to anything but. At L’entramise, we are particularly excited about the warm season ahead – as our products shine in just this type of setting. Perfect for outdoor soirées, our single-use plates and bowls (made with recycled plastic), are good-looking, sturdy, and backyard friendly. Plus, our compostable napkins and runners add a colorful touch to any table – available in an array of Memorial Day weekend appropriate colors and prints.

So, how did we come up with our MDW table? Like most tables we set, we approached it in a very not literal way. When going for a refreshing and trendy look, it’s best to skip the tired and overdone – in this case, stars and stripes. While both can be tied in here and there (eloquently), your table will appear more elevated with less expected hues, prints, and patterns.

We included stripes via luxe towel napkins (several paired together, to be used as table runner) in red and white, and linear striped salad plates in metallic gold and white.

In true patriotic fashion, we couldn’t help but incorporate a bit of blue. We used our cobalt floral dinner napkins – that we felt, say summer in the countryside.

We finished off our tabletop products with two-tone flatware (that has a picnicy vibe) and clear modern drinkware in two heights (as guests may want one glass for water and another for cocktails).

Last, we added flowers from the garden in a beautiful pink (which contrasts well with the already present colors – white, red, blue, gold, in faceted water glasses) and displayed some perfectly ripe cherries and a faceted water carafe, for extra interest.
